GovSocial is a new community of practice on the Digital Profession. It is a space to discuss and share insights on social media and social media communications in government.
(Our blog post is courtesy of Tim Price, Digital Content and Social Media Manager at Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. He is also the community lead of GovSocial on the members' community platform).
As we see significant changes across social media platforms, with the rise of Tik Tok, Elon Musk buying Twitter, and Meta making significant changes to its algorithms, now is the perfect time to connect with other social media professionals across the APS.
We have created GovSocial for us to help each other face the upcoming challenges and strengthen government social media teams and social media communication.
Each quarterly event we will have experts in the field speak to the group on the latest developments. In between we can stay connected on the digital profession platform.
Our goal is to foster collaboration across social media teams from different departments and agencies, have conversations on recent social media changes and provide professional development opportunities for those in the field.
The first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 8th and we look forward to seeing you there!
Join us and be a part of a community that is dedicated to sharing, learning and growing together in the world of social media.
